July 1st severe thunderstorm report.

July roared in with a bang, as Mother Nature gave us an early fireworks display.Multiple lines of severe thunderstorm roared across the area…Sadely there were two comfired deaths with around 39 injured in Burnett County with other injuries also reported in Douglas County….Burnett, Washburn, and Douglas Counties were the hardest hit areas….Some damage was seen in Polk County with more damage seen in Barron County….The rest of this writeup will mainly focus on Barron County…

***THE SETUP LEADING UP TO THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS***

The day started off hot and humid temps rose to the 90s to a few local spots hitting 100°….The upper level sounding showed a very strong cap in place through the day…Models were also saying the same, all models did agree the cap breaking in the very late afternoon/evening hours, instabilities were off the charts..Dewpoints were running well into the middle 70s to upper 70s.This all play a role in thunderstorm development over in MN…At 2:10 PM the SPC issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of the FA untill 10:00 PM.

***WAVES OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS***

First wave of severe thunderstorms...First wave of severe thunderstorms were in response to a short-wave that was moving out of Southwest MN this feature was able to break the cap this allowed for thunderstorms to form and become severe rather fast as they pushed into Northwestern WI…..This first wave mainly effected Burnett,Washburn, and Douglas Counties…

The second wave of severe thunderstorms...The second wave of severe thunderstorms form shortly after the short-wave pushed out of the areas….The first severe thunderstorm for Barron County was issued at 7:21 PM and Lasted to 8:30 PM…This first wave did produce some damage with it as it moved through….
Third wave of severe thunderstorms..The second severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 8:30 and lasted to 9:30 PM….This wave of storms produce more damage in Barron County which was by far the worst line of storms…

The forth wave of severe thunderstorms...The third severe thunderstorm warning was issued around 9:45 or so that lasted to 10:45 PM this was the cold front that was pushing through the area…The storms did produce a little more damage in the County…..From what I have saw the most of the damage was North of a hwy 48 line…With more areas of damage running along and North of a hwy B line….There was a report of damage in Southeastern Barron County, however I did not see any…
Tomorrow I may talk about the storms that effected Burrnett Counties and may have some damage pictures up
