The forecast for Western & Northwestern Wisconsin.

Cooler and less humid weather through Monday. Than a brief warm up for Tuesday and Wednesday. Will be dealing with off and on chances of showers and thunderstorms through Tuesday night….Wednesday through Friday looks like a nice stretch of dry and cooler temps….Longer term looks like fall is going to try to make an appearance, more on this later.

***CURRENT CONDITIONS***

At noon all stations are reporting mostly sunny to partly sunny skies….Temps for the most part are in the lower 70s with 74 being reported at EAU….. DP temps upper 40s to lower 50s…Winds are out of the West/Northwest. Most stations reporting wind speeds of 7 MPH.Visible satellite does show some cu forming across the FA.

***SHORT/MIDDLE TERM DISICUSSION***.

This late morning we find a 1010 MB low pressure centered over Southeast WI…Meanwhile we see a 992 MB low pressure system up over Southwestern Hudson Bay Canada with a cold front reaching down to the area of low pressure in WI….Cold front reaches back into KS…..1020 MB high pressure system is found out over Western ND/SD… With said high pressure system out to our West we will have a chance of a few showers and maybe a few thunderstorms this afternoon as a weak area of low pressure is forecasted to form over Northern MN. This feature is forecasted to dive southeast into the area…Some weak instability is forecasted to form also, however any thunderstorms that do form should behave them self’s. Looking up stream we should see temps rather cool for this time of year today and tomorrow. Sunday we have another weak area of low pressure/wave we will have to deal with; this one does appear to be a tad stronger and should mainly affect my central and Northern areas….Nevertheless we still should see some breaks in the clouds… Temps will still remain cool…Storms that do form tomorrow should not be severe. Monday temps warm back up to the middle to up 70s as WAA kicks in… This will really show up Monday late afternoon into the overnight hours so have decided to add a chance of showers and thunderstorms for this forecast period….Cold front is forecasted to dive into the area on Tuesday with a trough of a low pressure…This should set the stage for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening….. Some of the thunderstorms may be severe, won’t go into details on this right now as we have time to work out all the details as we get closer to Tuesday…..Sure will not add severe wording to the forecast as this would be pointless this far out in time. Wednesday through Friday shall be dry and cool with a 1020 MB high pressure systems camping out darn near overhead…..

***LONG TERM FORECAST DISCUSSION SATURDAY 27th THROUGH MONDAY SEP 5th ***

GFS model is showing a 987 MB low pressure system in Central MN by Sat morning the 27th This low seems to wash out however GFS has a cold front sinking into the area, and forms a 1007 MB low pressure system in Southeast SD. This low is forecasted to ride the Cold front into my Southern FA later in the day on Sat. This low moves rather fast and is forecasted to be in Northeastern part of WI by 18z Sat…. Still should see some post frontal boundary showers in the area..Sunday the 28th looks dry…Monday the 29th we see another system taken aim at the FA So will run with showers and storms…. Tuesday the 30th things dry back out once again. This hold through Wed the 31st.
Thur the 1st looks to be dry, however will add a chance of showers into the forecast later in the evening as the next system slowly starts to move into the FA. The 2nd and 3rd will have showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. We should also see showers and storms for the 4th and early part of the 5th…..
