Cold wet weekend,Forecast below

Forecast problems...This weekend through Monday..Showers and thunderstorms...Temps will also be problematic....Cool damp weekend on tap...

CURRENT CONDITIONS.....

Temps at this 9 Am hr are in the upper 40s to lower 50s through out the FA....Winds still from the E/NE through out my Central and Northern areas, while in my Southern areas winds have become SW....Dewpoints still rather dry through out the area...upper 30s...Meanwhile in MN dewpoint temps have been increasing...See below for radar info....

SFC ANALYSIS....

This morning's weather charts look like something out of fall not late spring...Cold front across Northern IL and Central IA this morning..Front reaches back into WY where we find 1001 MB low pressure spinning it's wheels...

TODAY THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.....

Much needed rain on it's way for the area,Some computer models painting out as much as 1/4 to 1/2 inch today and again tonight,if that pans out we could be looking at 1/2 inch to an inch of rainfall today through tonight....Shortwaves are forecasted to move along the frontal boundary, along with a trof moving West wards out of the Northern plains....Showers and thunderstorms will be increasing as we head through tonight..Radar is showing a rather large area of light rain showers over my Southern FA...Chippewa,Dunn,Eau Claire,Pepin,Pierice, and ST.Croix Counties just to name a few....This area of rain has been having a hard time moving North...Still have a rather dry flow into the Central and Northern forecast areas...Also a large area of thunderstorms over IA is robbing the better moisture from reaching the area...Once the storms to our South in IA move out, moisture will once again start to over run the frontal boundary, leading to showers and thunderstorms....Tonight showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing..However the main rain event should be over around the midnight hour,Iso showers and storms may still be possible after that....Sunday is not looking like a wash out like thought yesterday, nevertheless will still keep a few rain showers around as we will be between two systems...Showers and thunderstorms will make their way back into the area late Sunday afternoon into the late evening hours...Monday for now will hold onto showers and thunderstorms as a trof moves through...Timing on this trof a little tricky..May very well have to pull showers and storms from the forecast if this thing moves a little faster or dies out like some models are forecasting....For now will leave showers and thunderstorms stand.....Temps will be well below normal this weekend...lower to middle 50s today and upper 50s on Sunday and Monday...Lows in the lower to middle 40s will work out just fine.....

TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY....

Will run with a dry forecast through this time frame...Though some of the models do bring in a chance of showers and storm along about Wednesday....While other keep it dry....Temps are forecasted to start this period in the middle 60s and warm to lower 70s by Friday.....

LONG TERM.....(SATURDAY JUNE 13 THROUGH MONDAY JUNE 22)

Long range models still forecast the arrival of summer time temps..Will start this time frame with temps in the 70s....Thinking is I will keep 70s running through out much of this period...With a few 80s thrown in from time to time...Best shot at 80s shall come in on Sat the 20..Sun June 21 we may have shot at the 90s...May see that once again on Mon June 22....So looks like temps will be warming...So if like warm and humid conditions you will love this time frame.About time for sure!..Ok lets talk about rain chances....Still looks to be an active period coming up with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms...May be dealing with some bouts of severe thunderstorms in the FA.....This forecast cycle is so far out in time things can go wrong...However long range models have been showing this over the last few days so my confidence is increasing with this time frame
